Coping with Autism: The Parental Journey of Adjustment
Parents with  a child with autism can contribute unique experiences, insights, and perspectives about parenting a child with autism by participating in one small focus group or an individual interview in January, February, or March 2010.  Location is to be determined based on convenience of participants. Are you a New Jersey parent of a child with autism aged birth to 21 who is currently receiving or has received ABA interventions? If so we are seeking research participants for a study to be conducted. Participation in this study involves completing a brief online survey which will only take 5 to 10 minutes of your time. NYU Medical Center in the Center for Biomedical Imaging is currently recruiting participants in a brain imaging study measuring brain activation during a face processing task. Young male adults in the age range of 18-25 years with a diagnosis of autism or Asperger’s Disorder may be eligible for the study. The study involves two visits. Compensation will be provided for the first, respectively the second visit. Researchers at Georgian Court University are seeking participants for a survey on work- family life balance among parents of developmentally disabled children. To participate, you must be the parent/guardian of a child who has been diagnosed with a developmental disability and be employed at least part-time. The Center for Growth & Development, a Connecticut based ABA program for children with autism spectrum disorders is expanding its services to northern New Jersey!

For eight years, CGD has been providing high quality intensive ABA home programs based on a verbal behavior model to children ages 10 months to 18 years. Programs are developed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst®.

Each individualized program is designed to remediate deficits in expressive and receptive language, play skills, self help skills, social skills, theory of mind, executive functioning and academic readiness.
 
Services include (but are not limited to): Design and implementation of verbal behavior programming, discrete trial teaching, natural environment teaching, behavior intervention plan development, administration of the ABLLS®, school shadowing, facilitation of peer play dates, and collaboration with related service providers.

Nexus ABA Center offers premier, private ABA oriented Center and home based services. We serve all children,  2-10 years old, who are on the autism spectrum. The Comprehensive Learning Center (CLC), established in 2000, is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Executive Director. CLC is a private, non-profit program for individuals with autism located in Southampton, Pennsylvania. CLCs education program currently serves 19 students, ages 3 to 21 years. Plans for future expansion include development of an adult program. Intervention services at CLC are based upon the principles of applied behavior analysis. Click here for a full description.

Clinical Director-Job Description
The Educational Partnership for Instructing Children (EPIC) is one of the country’s premier schools for children with autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorder. EPIC is a non-profit, New Jersey approved, private ABA school in Paramus, serving learners from 3-21 years.  Click here to read some of the duties of this position.
