Message from the Executive Director

Linda S. Meyer

Since you accessed this website, you have, somehow, been touched by autism . For almost 50 years, Autism New Jersey (formerly COSAC) has been New Jersey’s resource for individuals with autism and the families and professionals who support them. On a daily basis, parents, legislators, government officials, media, students, advocates, siblings, service providers, extended family members, and concerned state residents contact us. Autism New Jersey connects people to people, people to resources, and people to information.

During a statewide listening tour during 2010, Autism New Jersey listened to more than 500 stakeholders, including self-advocates, family members, professionals and community members. The result was our document, “Connecting with Autism: A Blueprint for Lifetime Support.”   (download the Blueprint now) The Blueprint identifies one overarching theme: the need for a continuum of seamless services and supports through the lifespan, as needed, when needed.

During the past five years, we have expanded our advocacy and information services to address concerns of families and service providers who have adult members with autism.  So now we confidently, expertly and compassionately provide credible, reliable information to address the needs of individuals with autism across their lifespan.

Welcome to Autism New Jersey.  You are not alone.  You’re in the right place.

Respectfully,
